From the eye of a master tailor to the DEA CULT allure
For several decades, Dominique Aubry designed and made pieces in the ateliers of Thierry Mugler, Paco Rabanne, Balmain and Francesco Smalto.
Stylist, pattern maker and master tailor, she took one certainty from those years: a piece is built from the inside first.
From clothing to leather, then from leather to leather goods, that eye has never changed; only the materials have evolved.
At DEA CULT, everything begins with the search for an allure, which calls for new cuts. The result is pieces that are both supple and structured, able to hold a shape as well as embrace a body.
Invisible architecture: layered materials at the heart of leather bags and garments
Leather reinforcements and thicknesses shape each creation until its line is revealed. Pattern making becomes the architecture that makes every piece unique.
Like a master tailor adjusting the fit of a jacket, the House layers materials to build the inside. These structures, hidden beneath the skin, dictate the outer relief and give rise to volume.

The mark of the Great Sphinxat the hour when day fades
A migratory moth, mysterious and elusive, the Great Sphinx inhabits the imagination of the House. It only appears at dusk, as day tips into darkness, bringing the instinct to travel, the quiver of wings and the tension of metamorphosis.
Its presence can be sensed in the very geometry of the pieces: the line of a bag, the curve of a flap or the architecture of a jacket recall the outline and flight of its wings. The House contrasts matte and iridescent textures with the shine of patent leather, while gold and silver reflections catch the glow of the night.
Hot-stamped, inlaid or embroidered on the leather like a secret tattoo, the Sphinx is imprinted in the skin before setting into a jewel-like metal that seals the construction.
More than an emblem, the Sphinx embodies the world of Dominique Aubry, where creation is never separate from imagination. From that imagination flow the designer’s rock and gothic influences, like a constant dialogue between shadow and light.
Each creation is the result of a metamorphosis: raw material becomes architecture, structure becomes allure.
Like the Sphinx, the DEA CULT woman awakens at dusk and moves through the night, carried by pieces that reflect who she is.
